Hi, CeraVe

Thank you so much for considering me for this campaign. In this deck, I’ve curated work I’ve shot that aligns with the creative direction—dynamic, vibrant, inclusive, and full of personality, which reflects my own photographic style.

This is not about fear of the sun—it’s about celebrating it. The sun isn’t something to hide from, but something to embrace with confidence with your CeraVe sunscreen on!

I’m excited about the opportunity to create something that feels both impactful and joyful.

Look + Feel

Extreme angles
Sunkissed skin
Playful
Energetic

I’ll explore a variety of angles, lenses, and compositions to keep the visuals dynamic and engaging. We'll focus on pushing the cheek closest to the lens to catch the light on the cheekbone, ensuring skin remains the immediate focal point—before expression or eye contact. I plan to shoot with both wide and macro lenses to capture the talent’s natural and confident energy.

Lighting

Bright
Directional
Vibrant

For this project, lighting will play a key role in making skin appear naturally sun-kissed, radiant, and healthy—immediately drawing the viewer’s attention. The glowing skin will highlight the CeraVe product, with lighting as the first visual element that captivates before anything else.

☀️💡

Shooting in a studio environment offers complete control over lighting, which is key to achieving consistent, high-quality results throughout a production day. In the studio, we’re not limited by time or weather—we can recreate the ideal golden hour glow at any moment, using directional key lights, backlights, and color-corrected gels that match the sun’s warmth, giving us the same visual effect without time constraints.

Natural sunlight can be unpredictable. Managing this on location requires constant repositioning, the use of scrims, reflectors, and additional grip equipment—all of which add complexity and can slow down production. In studio, we eliminate that variable entirely. Our light source remains consistent and controllable, allowing us to tailor it per model and scene, resulting in reliable and repeatable imagery. With the use of modifiers and carefully controlled contrast, I shape the light to add depth and dimension, ensuring every frame feels vibrant and polished.

On our pre-light day we will make sure everything lines up with the creative vision. This gives us time to dial in the look ahead of the shoot, so we’re not figuring things out on the fly. It helps the day run smoother and keeps everything on track.

To achieve a more dynamic perspective, we can elevate the background and shoot from a lower angle, allowing me to capture the subject with an upward frame while maintaining flattering, glowing skin through carefully positioned lighting. For the background, I recommend shooting on a clean blue backdrop and adding clouds in post. This approach offers greater flexibility in retouching and ensures a seamless final image, avoiding the complexity of removing existing cloud details later if adjustments are needed.

On our pre-light day, we’ll lock in lighting, background, and camera angles to align with the creative vision. This ensures a smooth, efficient shoot with no surprises on set.

Expressions + Authenticity

Skin is first, then the persona.

When shooting, I always strive to capture candid moments that are never posed, allowing the unique personality of the talent to shine through. Overall we will keep the expressions natural and happy! I will make sure to capture a wide range of uplifting expressions from confident to playful. The expressions will be organic and true to our talent’s personality — not acted or overdone - with the right amount of personality.

I’ll avoid extreme expressions/smiles that can change the appearance of our talent’s face. Additionally, I plan to shoot a range of angles and crops to ensure your team has many desirable options to choose from.

talent w/ product

In product shoots, I lean into showcasing the product front and center, playing around with scale. At the same time, I make sure the focus is shared naturally between the face and the product. It's about finding that sweet spot where both elements shine without it feeling forced.  I’m not afraid to move around and try new angles that will captivate our audience and help our work stand out.

On Set w/ Felisha

As a photographer/director, my sets have always had a comfortable energy on set.

When shooting, I always strive to capture candid moments that are never posed, allowing the unique personality of the talent to shine through. I achieve this by building trust with my subjects, helping them become comfortable and vulnerable in my presence. This connection gives us a great working environment to capture the perfect shot.  I chat with the talent to get to know them while they are in hair and makeup so by the time we start shooting, I’ll feel like just another friend to them. I’ll play the talents’ favorite music to engage them and loosen up the mood and throw in compliments to keep confidences high.

When I need certain movements or expression I’ll get on their level, jump in the scene, and demonstrate it myself so my direction isn’t intimidating. I am fun, respectful and willing to do anything to get the talent in the right frame of mind to get those amazing moments.
